Part I – About intention
I had a really busy week – Andrew and I found a house we really love so we bought it last Wednesday.
Previously I wasn’t fussy about whether to rent or buy, living in a flat or a house. I did think about buying a property, but due to my noncommittal attitude, I didn’t really get anywhere.
Then things started to shift 3 months ago. We both had a burst of desire to have a dog in the family. This means that we will need a house with a garden for our future dog.
That’s when I got really excited to look for a potential house. We visualised, visualised and visualised; we kept talking about how we are going to spend time with our imaginary dog; who is going to walk him (it is going to be a him by the way) and on which day of the week…
Now we’ve found a house (with front AND back gardens) in a nice (and fortunately currently under valued) neighbourhood! As a bonus, I also managed to convert some space on the ground floor into a work + dance/music studio!
Given how temperamental the UK housing market can be (with upward chains etc), I guess this 3-month-manifestation is not a bad turn around, huh?
Having a dog was really the driver behind going through all the paperwork, mortgage quotations, endless surveys, negotiations, logistics, sales-falling-through-but-stay-upbeat-and-keep-looking-for-more…
Compared to my previous “maybe” attitude, this time my intention is unbeatable.
Intention is a very powerful force you can have, that’s why I spent a whole chapter writing about it in Express the Master Within.
Intention is something that you can always fall back on.
To give you another example: I made a decision to update this blog and newsletter every week from day 1. But now I’m in the middle of house moving and redecorating. There is no internet in the new place yet.
I’ve only got an 1hr window to create content before I pack my stuff away.
How can I do it this week? I didn’t know yet but it didn’t really matter. My intention is to make no exception.
That’s the beauty of intention. We decide “what”, not “how”. I decided to send empowering and inspirational newsletter every week. So it will happen.
I just needed to surrender my control. Instead of forcing it to be “my way”, I’ll allow creative solutions to unfold.
Personally I prefer improvisation when it comes to writing or videoing – the unknown aspect really excites my inner-child. It’s not that I didn’t think about pre-scheduling all my posts and newsletters during busy times. I tried it before while I was having a day job. However I always ended up creating something completely different.
So I asked my spiritual guides what I could write about this week.
The insight I received was “keep packing”.
A little bizarre I thought.
But I really learnt from the past that guidance is a lot wiser than my own intellect, plus I really want to do things the easy way from now on. So I carried on going through my old journals, decluttering and packing.
Then 10 minutes after, a piece of yellow paper fell out from my old pink carrying box:
“It doesn’t interest me to know where you live or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up, after the night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done to feed the children.”
It was a poem written by Danah Zohar that I kept since early 2000. Reading it again a decade later, I had a chill down my spine all over again! – I’m still touched by the emotion, wisdom and insights behind this poem.
The moment I read it again, I knew that I must share this poem with you. I think you’ll enjoy it!
Part II – The poem
By Danah Zohar & Ian Marshall
It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.
It doesn’t interest me how old you are.
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon.
I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life’s betrayals or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain.
I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or fade it, or fix it.
I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own, if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes, without cautioning us to be careful, to be realistic, to remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me is true.
I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself; if you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul; if you can be faithless and therefore trust worthy.
I want to know if you can see beauty even when it’s not pretty every day, and if you can source your own life from its presence.
I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand on the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, “Yes!”
It doesn’t interest me to know where you live or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up, after the night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done to feed the children.
It doesn’t interest me who you know or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back.
It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom you have studied.
I want to know what sustains you, from the inside, when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.
Part III – An invitation to you
So what’s your intention towards the end of 2012? What are your goals to be achieved by the end of this year? It’s never too late. 2 months is long enough to manifest your heart’s desires, if you are 100% committed.
In the comment area, I invite you to come over and let me know what you arch for, what’s your heart’s desire? I’d love to hear from you. Or if you consider yourself shy, send me an email (yiye[at]yourlifeexpression[dot]com)
As always,
Sending you good vibes and all my love

Yiye, that was super inspiring! Thank you so much for sharing Danah Zohar’s poem! (The song lyrics Tanja mentioned are so similar, will have to check that out too) Keep up the great work and good luck for the upcoming move into your new home x x
I love this poem. I am not familiar with Danah Zohar & Ian Marshall but know it from Oriah Mountain Dreamer’s book. She is one of my favorite authors. My intention for the rest of the year is to focus on healthy boundaries, taking care of myself by getting better quality sleep, more movement and better eating habits and to successfully launch my new program in December. Lots on my plate:)
all the best to your new program! I’m sure you’ll wow people 🙂
Oh Yiye, these are exciting times! I’m absolutely thrilled for you and your beloved. Finding your dream home is huge. I’m sure the dog will find you soon <3
My intention for the end of 2012… well, one was to find a way to increase my income in the short term, and that I've just manifested – I'll be starting a new daytime job with substantially more income, so yay for me! Another intention would be to somehow manage to be less busy so I won't only read one of my favourite blogs four days later!! 🙂
Much love and blessings,
Sibylle
Thank you SO MUCH Sibylle!! I can see that you are already doing a wonderful job manifesting, and we are all touched and inspired by your spark and spirit!

Yiye
So much inspiration in this post, Yiye. This poem was actually used as the basis for one of my favourite songs: “Everything is different now” by Don Henley.
The lines he uses that hark back to this are:
“I don’t care what you do for a living
I don’t care what kind of car you drive
All I want to know right now is what do you believe in
What it means to you to be alive
And will you stand here in this fire with me?
Are you ready for a different life?”
I’ve loved that song ever since I first hear it – thank you for reminding me of it!
Blessings
TANJA
Thank you Tanja for introducing me this song! will check it out!
Love and blessings!
